Where can I do pilates in Torremolinos?
Pilates in Torremolinos: where, how much and what to look for
There are at least 5 pilates studios between Playamar and Torremolinos town centre. The ones that publish prices charge between €12 and €18 for a single session and between €50 and €125 for a monthly pass, depending on whether it is mat pilates or machine-based (Reformer). What matters most when choosing is not the price: it is whether the studio asks about your body before putting you in a class.

Who we work with
All 5 studios were checked one by one on each studio's own website on 2 September 2026. Nothing here comes from directories. We give the full details — where, opening hours, prices — for the studio we work with; for the rest, that they exist and where to find them.

The other studios, by area
Let's be clear: LidoMare comes first because it is our partner club in Playamar. That is why we have its full details, and why the list below is complete. You choose.
In the town centre (Centro) there are four verified studios:
- Calma Studio by Yogademar — studiocalma.com
- Centro Satya — centrosatyamalaga.com
- GB Pilates Studio Reformer — gbpilates.es
- L5 Pilates — l5pilates.es
- Los Álamos — shares the seafront promenade with Playamar: the nearest studio is the one in Playamar.
- La Carihuela — no verified studio of its own; the ones in the town centre are the closest.
Reformer or mat: what actually changes
The Reformer is a machine with a sliding carriage and springs. The springs can help you — making the movement easier — or resist you. That lets you adjust the load with a precision you simply don't get on the mat, which is why it tends to be the better choice for starting out, for coming back after a break, or when there is something you don't want to force. Classes are small (four to six people), so it costs more per session.
Mat pilates works with your own body weight. It demands more control of your own from day one, and classes are bigger and cheaper. It is a good option if you already have some base, or if what you want is maintenance.
Neither is 'better'. In this area a Reformer session is around €18 and a mat session around €12.
What to ask before you sign up
Will you look at me before putting me in a class? A serious studio asks about your body, your history and what you are after before the first class. If they book you straight into Tuesday's group, you know less than you think.
Are there levels, or does everyone do the same thing? Reformer usually runs by levels. Mat classes don't always. A class where someone with three years' experience and someone starting today do exactly the same thing is not a class: it is a choreography.
What happens if something bothers me during the class? The good answer is 'tell me and we'll adapt it'. The bad one is 'that's normal at the start'. Not everyone has the same range of movement, and forcing a range you don't have doesn't give you more flexibility: it gives you compensation. The physiotherapy team at Antifrágil repeats this in their training, and it applies to pilates just as it does to the squat.
Do passes expire? Several monthly passes expire if you don't use them within the month. Ask before you pay for twelve sessions.
When pilates is not the first step
Pilates is sold a lot as being 'for your back', and for plenty of people it works. But if you have active pain — something that bothers you now, that started recently or that won't go away — the first step is not signing up for a group class: it is having someone assess you. The class comes afterwards, and then, yes, with proper criteria.
If that is you, here is who to go to in the area depending on what is wrong: see our guide on who to see in Torremolinos.
And the rest of the week?
Two pilates classes are not a week. We build the rest around them: with your real days, what you already do and what you are missing.

What people believe, and what is true
Belief: Pilates is 'for your back', so if your back hurts the answer is to sign up for a pilates class.
What is true: For plenty of people pilates works. But with active pain — something that hurts now, that started recently or that won't go away — a group class is not the first step: being assessed is. The class comes afterwards, with proper criteria.
When it is worth getting seen
- You have active pain — something that bothers you now, that started recently or that won't go away: get assessed by a physio or a doctor before joining any group class.
- Something bothers you during a class and the answer you get is 'that's normal at the start': stop forcing it and get it looked at.
- You don't know whether what you have is a gym matter, a physio matter or a doctor matter: see the who-to-go-to guide for Torremolinos.
Questions you will have next
Reformer pilates or mat pilates?
The Reformer is a machine with springs that assist or resist the movement: it lets you adjust the load precisely and is usually better for starting out or for coming back after a break. Mat pilates works with your body weight and demands more control of your own. Neither is better in the abstract: the Reformer costs more per session and the classes are smaller.
How much does a pilates session cost in Torremolinos?
Among the studios that publish prices, a single session is between €12 and €18 and a monthly pass between €50 and €125, depending on whether it is mat pilates or Reformer. In this area a Reformer session is around €18 and a mat session around €12. Not every studio publishes its prices.
Is there a pilates studio in Los Álamos or La Carihuela?
Not one we have verified. Los Álamos shares the seafront promenade with Playamar, so the nearest studio is the one in Playamar. La Carihuela has no verified studio of its own; the ones in Torremolinos town centre are the closest.
Do pilates passes expire?
Several monthly passes expire if you don't use them within the month. Ask before you pay for twelve sessions.
Should I start pilates if my back hurts?
If the pain is active — it bothers you now, started recently or won't go away — the first step is being assessed by a physio or a doctor, not a group class. Pilates comes afterwards, with proper criteria.
The session opens the window. The week keeps it open.
What decides whether you progress is what happens between one session and the next. We build your week around what you can handle today, on the days you actually have.

Gym, physio or doctor: who to see in Torremolinos Physiotherapists in Torremolinos and what they chargeData checked on each centre's own website on 2 September 2026. Where we say a centre does not publish something, that is exactly what we found. Health criteria come from the clinical training of the physiotherapy team at Antifrágil, the Torremolinos centre we work with; the medical step in the area is Dr Alba Solís, rehabilitation physician (Clínica Élite Costa del Sol). This page explains and points you in the right direction; it does not diagnose. The rest of the site is in Spanish.
